Consolidated cargo from 1 kg

Your goods travel in our own container, not in somebody else's

Consolidated cargo is where shipments go missing, and almost always at the same place: an intermediate warehouse where somebody else's pallets are broken down and rebuilt. We do not use those. Your goods arrive at our Guangzhou warehouse, are checked and photographed, and are loaded into a container we fill ourselves.

Who this is for

Who ships this way

Consolidation exists for everyone whose order does not fill a container — which is most orders, most of the time.

You buy from several suppliers at once

Three factories in three cities, three separate small shipments. We receive all of them, check them against your orders and send them as one.

Your order is too small for a container

A full container is forty cubic metres. If you have three, you should be paying for three, not for the other thirty-seven.

You are testing a new product

First batch, small quantity, and you do not yet want to commit to container volumes. Start at one kilogram and scale when the product sells.

You have been losing goods in transit

Short deliveries, damaged cartons, boxes that arrive with somebody else's labels. That is what transhipment through shared warehouses does.

Scope

What happens to your cargo, step by step

What we do

  • Receive goods at our Guangzhou warehouse from any supplier, in any Chinese city
  • Count every carton against your order and photograph what arrived
  • Check the packaging and reinforce it where it will not survive the route
  • Label and repack for your market's requirements before loading, not after arrival
  • Store free of charge while the rest of your order arrives
  • Load into our own container and seal it
  • Route by sea, rail or a combination, chosen against your deadline and budget
  • Clear customs at destination and deliver to your address

What you get

  • A photo record of every consignment as it arrived at our warehouse
  • A discrepancy report if the supplier shipped the wrong quantity — before it leaves China, while it can still be fixed
  • One container, one seal, one responsible party
  • The full shipping document set
  • Delivery to your address, not to a port

How it works

From supplier to your address

The order matters here more than anywhere: everything that can be caught cheaply is caught in the first two steps, while the goods are still in China.

Address and instructions

You give your suppliers our warehouse address and tell us what to expect. We open a file for your shipment.

Receiving

Cartons arrive, we count them, weigh them, measure them and photograph them. Anything that does not match your order is flagged to you immediately.

Preparation

Reinforced packaging where needed, labelling for your market, repacking to save volume. Storage while the rest arrives is free.

Loading

Into our own container, sealed. You get the loading list and the seal number.

Transit

Sea, rail or combined, on the route agreed at the start. You know where the container is.

Customs and delivery

Clearance at destination and delivery to your address, with the complete document set.

Cost

How consolidated freight is priced

Charged per cubic metre or per tonne, whichever is greater — but that is only the transport line. Here is the whole picture.

What the price depends on

  • Volume or weight, whichever gives the larger figure for your cargo
  • The route and the mode: sea is cheapest and slowest, rail sits in between, combined routes vary by season
  • The destination — a port city and an inland one are different prices
  • What the goods are: fragile, liquid or dangerous cargo needs different handling
  • Whether labelling, repacking or certification is part of the job
  • Whether customs clearance at destination is on us or on you
Storage while you wait is free Goods from your different suppliers can sit at our warehouse until the order is complete without a storage charge. Nobody should pay rent for waiting on someone else's factory.

Send us the volume, the weight and the destination and the quote comes back within one working day, with the transit time for each mode so you can choose.

Questions

What people ask about consolidated cargo

How is the price calculated — by weight or by volume?

By whichever is greater. For sea freight the rule of thumb is one cubic metre against one tonne: a cubic metre of feathers and a tonne of bolts cost about the same to move.

So a light bulky shipment is priced on its volume. Our calculator takes both and works out which applies.

Really from one kilogram?

Yes. There is no minimum that makes us turn work away. Very small shipments are proportionally more expensive per kilo, which is arithmetic rather than policy, and for those we will usually tell you honestly whether air makes more sense.

What if my supplier sends the wrong quantity?

You find out while the goods are still in China, which is the entire point of receiving them ourselves. We count every carton against your order and photograph what arrived.

A shortfall discovered at our warehouse is a conversation with the factory. The same shortfall discovered at your warehouse two months later is a loss.

Can you hold my goods until the rest of the order arrives?

Yes, and there is no storage charge for it. Consolidating across several suppliers is what the service is for, and most orders arrive in pieces.

Sea, rail or combined — which should I choose?

Sea is the cheapest and the slowest. Rail is faster and costs more, and for Central Asia and parts of Europe it is often the sensible middle. Combined routes make sense when a leg is congested.

We give you the price and the transit time for each on your actual route, and you choose. We do not have a preferred mode we are trying to sell.

Do you deliver to the port or to my warehouse?

To your address. A container standing at a terminal is not a delivered shipment, and arranging the last leg yourself in a country you do not operate in is where the savings disappear.

Request

Tell us the task — we will come back with questions and a plan

Four short steps. After you send it, you will see a confirmation with your name on it, and a person from the Guangzhou office picks it up during Chinese working hours.

If you would rather write than fill in a form, the messenger buttons in the chat window reach the same team.
